Diddy apologizes for his behavior captured in the 2016 assault video against his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
The footage exclusively obtained and released by CNN showed Diddy brutally attacking Cassie at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles as she was trying to leave. Diddy said he was at “rock bottom” when the assault occurred and has since sought therapy and rehab.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Combs said in an Instagram video. “I was f***** up—I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.” He continued, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I am disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”
Cassie’s lawyer Meredith Firetog fired back at Diddy’s apology via a statement posted to Wigdor Law account on X.

“Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”
The footage released by CNN aligns with an incident outlined in the lawsuit Cassie filed against Diddy in November 2023 for domestic and sexual abuse and human trafficking. In the filing, Cassie said Diddy paid the InterContinental Hotel $50,000 for the now-viral footage.
#DishFam, do you believe Diddy is “truly sorry” for his actions?
