The Canadian crooner, 31, and Wanted actress, 46, were spotted at Giorgio Baldi restaurant in LA on Wednesday, sparking rumors that the two may be dating. But while some speculate that they may have met on romantic terms, others assume it was just a business meeting considering The Weeknd’s recent expansion into TV and film.

An insider told Page Six that “they’re clearly not trying to hide [the dinner date]”—adding that “he’s [The Weeknd] definitely focused on getting to the movie business. He has the new HBO series he’s starring in.” If what the source shared was true, it definitely makes sense, since he made a cameo as himself in Uncut Gems and is teaming up with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim to co-write the new HBO series The Idol. 

We may never know the real reason for The Weeknd and Angelina’s reported restaurant rendezvous, but people have thoughts, and to that, we say, “Same.”
