2021 Super Bowl Recap! Tom Brady, Jazmine Sullivan, H.E.R., Amanda Gorman, The Weeknd, & A Streaker Have The Best Social Media-Worthy Moments!
Monday, Feb 8, 2021

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have won last night’s Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs, but there were many highlights that sent social media buzzin’. We definitely can’t start this recap without mentioning how the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady broke his own record by being the oldest quarterback to score three touchdowns in the championship game. In addition, he took home his 7th Lombardi trophy and his 5th MVP award!

But some of the night’s most memorable moments happened before kick-off. America has never been so soulful until R&B singer H.E.R sang her edgy rendition of “America the Beautiful.” Soul singer Jazmine Sullivan and Country music star Eric Church brought the best of both worlds with a diverse duet of the Star-spangled Banner.

Amanda Gorman, the youngest Inaugural poet, delivered another inspiring poem called “Chorus of the Captains” which paid homage to “Honorary Captains” Trimaine Davis (an educator), Suzie Dorner (ICU nurse manager), and James Martin (veteran).

The Weeknd took us through a maze with his amazing Super Bowl half-time show. In true “Starboy” fashion, the singer had all the bells and whistles of a Superbowl performance—including an entire choir behind him as he sang hits like “Can’t Feel My Face” and “Blinding Lights.” But the most memorable and meme-able moments were his golden maze of mirrors and a field full of bandaged dancers that, per tweeter Julian Bass, looked like a bunch of “tethered Jasons” from Jordan Peele’s horror film Us.

Last but certainly not least, “Florida Man” Yuri Andrade, 31, literally showed his ass as he stormed the field in a pink thonged one-piece get-up. He was later arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing.
