2020 has been a really big jerk of a year and we’d all love to forget most of it, but it hasn’t been ALL bad.
Through the difficulties of living through a pandemic and surviving an insane election we’ve managed to find a few positives to come out of this year.
So snuggle in and come relive some of the best moments of 2020.
Happy New Year all you cool cats and kittens. Joe Exotic captivated the country during the first wave of Covid lockdowns and his insane story helped us retain some of our own sanity. While we continue to debate if Carole Baskin killed her husband we know she definitely inspired a ton of halloween costumes and single handedly brought back the flower crown. Now Joe is writing Kim Kardashian from jail and Carole competed on ‘Dancing With The Stars.’ We can’t wait to see what happens next.
Leslie Jordan has been around far longer than just this year but 2020 really showed us how badly we all needed him in our lives. His Instagram posts were funny food for the soul and his spirit lifted ours throughout quarantine. Well, sh*t y’all we just love our Guncle Leslie!!
@janefondaHello Tik Tok! I’m bringing back the Jane Fonda Workout to fight the climate crisis. Join #firedrillfriday 4/3 @ 11AMPT #happyathome #indoorworkout♬ original sound – Jane Fonda
Thanks to TikTok we can now watch Jane Fonda do the Jane Fonda workout tape. That rules.
Some of our favorite series hosted Zoom reunion episodes! We got to relive the glory of ‘Parks and Rec’ ‘The Proud Family’ ‘Community’ ‘High School Musical’ and more. It really provided the most wonderful nostalgia and allowed parents to introduce their kids to shows they loved when they were growing up.
The Coronavirus has left so many people out of work and struggling to feed their families. Tons of celebrities have stepped up to donate money and time to help those in need. Guy Fieri, Mayor of Flavortown and all around sweetheart, has raised over $21.5 MILLION for unemployed restaurant workers this year.
Sourdough starter anyone? Everyone, and we do mean EVERYONE started making sourdough bread this year. Life is better with a side of bread, and we all made a whole heck of a lot of it in 2020.
2020 brought us all together to fight for justice and an end to systemic racism. We are so proud of all the hard work our girl Porsha Williams has done this year to fight for and speak for those that cannot speak for themselves. The battle is far from over, but 2020 has certainly brought us closer than we’ve ever been before.
See, 2020 had a few bright spots we can look back at fondly in 2021.
Happy New Year from your Dish fam!
What’s one thing that brought you joy during this difficult year?
