The VMAs went wild this Sunday at Madison Square Garden in New York! The show opened with a glorious performance by Rihanna, with her song “Don’t Stop The Music“… And the music didn’t stop there! Rihanna performed once again bringing a ton of backup dancers to twerk along to her most famous hits “Rude Boy,” “Pon De Replay,” “What’s My Name?” and “Work.” The only one who missed out on the party was Drake, who was apparently stuck in traffic! … Sucks!  And because RiRi likes to give us life.. she blessed the stage a couple more times throughout the night!

There were several moments that we just can’t pass on… like Kanye West on the stage and his four minutes of… shade? Kanye walked up the stage as the song “Famous” played and warned the audience…

He used this moment to make the rumors clear regarding his lyrics about Taylor Swift! He then proceeded to leave us even more surprised with a new video for his song “Fade.”

We also got to see Nick Jonas on stage, who took us to dinner and had us full on bacon… YASS!

But the VMAs had more surprises for us! Kim Kardashian announced Britney Spears’ return to the VMAs… “It’s Britney bitch!” Britney Spears left us eyes wide open with her performance of “Make Me” and later joined G-Eazy to sing “Me, Myself and I.”

Then the time finally came for Queen Bey’s appearance and it is fair to say that she STOLE the show! Beyonce performed “Lemonade” and slayed the stage. She ruled the VMAs with a total of 11 nominations and beat Madonna for the most Moonmen of all time!

… Oh yes, and broke the camera lens too!

There were also some heartfelt moments, like Drake’s declaration of love to Rihanna as he presented her with the Video Vanguard Award.

Yes, super cute! Drake took a moment to acknowledge Rihanna’s work and positive outcome. We couldn’t agree more.We see you blushing RiRi!

But it was the Final Five who joined us and presented Beyonce the award for Best Female Video… Unfortunately, Gabrielle Douglas was not present because of health issues. We sure missed her but we wish her the best!

But the Final Five weren’t the only visitors from the Olympics… Ryan Lochte was there too! Ok, we lied. Jimmy Fallon had the hilarious idea to dress up like Lochte and had the nerve to tell us he directed all of the nominated music videos…

The shade was on point… Michael Phelps’ reactions was priceless!
