Tina Fey Wants Tracy Morgan On Season 2 Of ‘Kimmy Schmidt’September 30, 2015
The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt creator has said in the past that there’s a role waiting for Tracy, 46, on the show, and now that Season 2 has started filming she’s pushing for him to get his feet wet again by appearing in the hit Netflix show.
“Tina’s trying hard to convince Tracy to make an appearance in a couple of episodes. Nothing that would require a ton of shooting time for him, but enough that he can get back on set and back on the horse, so to speak,” an insider exclusively told Dish Nation.
“Season 2 has just began shooting, and it’s never too late to write something in.”
Tina, 45, already has a pretty good idea of where she’d write Tracy in, and it sounds like exactly the type of over-the-top character that he would love to play.
“Tina thinks it would be hilarious to link Tracy’s character to the flamboyantly gay Titus Andromedon, either as a friend or potential love interest,” the source dished.
“She knows that Tracy has a knack for taking an already colorful character to the next level with his physical comedy and his unmatched instinct for what’s funny.”
In June 2014 Tracy’s limousine bus was struck by a Walmart truck, injuring Tracy and two others and killing his friend and writing partner James McNair. Tracy sustained several injuries, including devastating brain trauma that left him in critical condition.
“It’s been over 15 months since Tracy’s accident, and although he’s eager to get back to work, he’s a little uneasy about whether or not his brain injuries have taken a toll on his comedy,” the insider explained.
“But Tina’s not worried about it one bit. She has all the faith in the world in Tracy and wants to do everything possible to help him make his comeback and get him back on TV where he’s happiest.”
