NEW DETAILS IN TIGER WOODS’ DUI ARRESTMay 30, 2017
According to police records, the golf legend was asleep in his Mercedes-Benz with the car running, his foot on the brake and the right turn signal flashing. On a positive note, he was wearing his seat belt.
Officers on the scene reported Woods was slurring his speech and claiming to be driving back from playing golf in California. He was actually near his Palm Beach home in Florida. The 41-year-old later changed his story and admitted he wasn’t sure where he was.
Woods failed several field sobriety tests such as touching his nose, but took a breathalyzer and registered a 0.0000. Woods later released a statement claiming there was no alcohol involved and the entire incident was due to “an unexpected reaction to prescription medicine.”
It has been reported that Woods is recovering from recent back surgery. There were several drugs listed on the police report under medical conditions including Vicodin.
Woods was charged with suspicion of driving under the influence and illegal parking. He is due back in court on July 5th.
