SLEEPING MORE CAN HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHTJanuary 20, 2018
Sleeping late isn’t lazy, in fact, it’s better than some exercise fads! One study proves that getting 90 extra minutes of sleep will help with weight loss.
While a lack of sleep has been a known risk factor for obesity, a new study shows that sleeping an extra 90 minutes a night could help you lose weight. According to the study, those who got more sleep ate 10 grams less of sugar a day.
Lead researcher Haya Al Khatib concluded:
“Sleep duration and quality is an area of increasing public health concern and has been linked as a risk factor for various conditions. We have shown that sleep habits can be changed with relative ease in healthy adults using a personalized approach. Our results also suggest that increasing time in bed for an hour or so longer may lead to healthier food choices. This further strengthens the link between short sleep and poorer quality diets that has already been observed by previous studies.”
