Dish Nation was fortunate enough to chat with Niu and here are his answers to our ‘Side Dish‘ questions:
Q – Where did you go on your first date and what happened?
A – I never revisit past relationships.
Q – If you had an elephant, where would you hide it?
A – What a bizarre question. If I had an elephant I wouldn’t hide it at all. I would call the LA Zoo.
Q – What song is the most played on your iPod and which is the most potentially embarrassing?
A – I don’t own an iPod but right now I’ve been listening to Get Low by Dillion Francis quite a bit. I can’t say there’s anything embarrassing to me. I literally listen to everything; country, rock, rap, pop, classical, electronic, etc.
Q – If you had one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?
A – To be able to teleport for obvious reasons. I would travel whenever and wherever I wanted.
Q – What’s the weirdest dream you’ve ever had?
A – It’s always when I’m dreaming that I’ve worked all day, only to wake up and realize that I wasn’t and my day was just getting starting.
Q – If you didn’t need to eat or didn’t need to sleep, which would you choose?
A – No sleep for sure. I love food too much to go without it. Plus I could get so much more done if I didn’t have to sleep
Q – What’s your favorite lunch dish and which food do you not like and why?
A – I typically don’t eat lunch. I find that when I do, I end up getting sleepy and lazy for the rest of the day. Usually an iced coffee in the middle of the day keeps me going. There’s nothing really I won’t eat and I’m willing to try anything at least one.
Q – Do you have any phobias and what have been some of the repercussions?
A – My biggest phobia is being on a boat in the middle of the ocean. I’ve tried working on it over the years but still have a pretty difficult time with it.
Q – How do you relax and how easy do you find it to let go?
A – Food and great red wine is usually how I like to relax. I’m a really big foodie and find it very euphoric for me. When I’m super wound up, I typically start cleaning my place. Cleaning brings my mind to peace pretty quickly.
Q – If you could be anywhere and with anyone right now, where and who would it be at this very moment?
A – Hands down in New York City with my girlfriend Edith.
