Bachelor Bombshells! Sean Lowe Reveals Arie Was First Pick & Emily Maynard Lied About The Fantasy SuiteFebruary 20, 2015

Lowe, 31, stopped by the Dallas studio to chat with hosts Kellie Rasberry, J-Si, Jenna Owens and Big Al Mack — promoting his new best-selling book For The Right Reasons and dishing on all things Bachelor.
First up, Lowe reveals that “Prince Farming” Chris Soules was not ABC’s first choice to be this season’s Bachelor and that former Bachelorette star Arie Luyendyk Jr. actually got the green light first.
“I was campaigning for my race car driving buddy, Arie. From what I understand, the producers that make the show, they wanted Arie as well. They’ve got some new execs and they were getting nervous…Arie hadn’t been on TV in two years, we wanna go with the safe choice, which would have been Chris, because he was just coming off The Bachelorette,” Lowe explained.
“They actually told Arie he was going to be the Bachelor. They even flew down, had a camera crew, filmed him telling his family he was going to be the next Bachelor, then they pulled the rug out from underneath him and made Chris the Bachelor.”
Wonder if Soules knows he was their second choice?
When Lowe appeared on Emily Maynard‘s season of The Bachelorette she made it very clear to viewers that she wouldn’t be utilizing the Fantasy Suite in any of her dates because she is “a mother and a role model” — but Lowe says she wasn’t exactly truthful with viewers.
“She told me, she said, ‘Listen, I’m only gonna do this with you. We’re gonna look like we’re gonna wrap up the date, but then we’re gonna go to the Fantasy Suite and we can just hang out,'” Lowe revealed.
“And so that’s exactly what we did, and I think I walked her back to her place at like four in the morning. We spent like four hours, no cameras, and so I’m thinking if she’s only doing it with me she must want to choose me! Of course it was that same week she sent me home,” he laughed. “And I found out she did it with the other guys.”
“Do you think she hooked up with the other guys?” Jenna asked.
“If I had to guess I’d say probably,” he answered.
Weighing in on the current season of The Bachelor, Lowe notes, “He’s had some crazy chicks.”
“You get a 500 questionnaire test asking you, ‘When you get mad, do you ever think about kicking dogs?’ They’re doing this psych eval,” Lowe said of how the show gathers their contestants.
“But here’s what I’ve realized also…they got to make an entertaining TV show, so they’ve got to put crazy chicks in. So I think they put half the girls they think might be compatible with Chris, the other half are just going to be crazy and make good TV.”
Speaking of good TV, Lowe gives Dish his prediction on who will be the next Bachelorette based on the current season.
“It’s going to be tough. If I had to guess, I would say the Canadian girl that likes to tell the vulgar jokes and stuff,” he said.
“I think she’s the only viable option. But you know what would be great TV? The crazy girl Kelsey whose husband died. That would be great TV.”
