THE OBAMAS SIGNED A MULTIMILLION-DOLLAR BOOK DEALMarch 5, 2017
The Obamas have signed a book deal with Penguin Random House and there are high expectations for this White House memoir.
According to published reports, they will be paid around $60 million for both books! This beats Bill Clinton who was paid $15 million by Knopf for “My Life,” and the $10 million George W. Bush got for “Decision Points” by Crown for his 2010 memoir.
Barack‘s book will be a ‘straightforward memoir’ about his time as POTUS, while Michelle‘s will be about inspiring young people with her life story.
Writing books will not be a hard task for the two. Did you know Barack was a critically-acclaimed writer before his presidential gig? His books “Dreams From My Father” and “The Audacity of Hope” were both best bestsellers! Michelle also published a book in 2012 called “American Grown.”
Penguin Random House expressed their gratitude and excitement:
“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our publishing partnership with President and Mrs. Obama. With their words and their leadership, they changed the world.”
Much of the $60 million is reportedly going to charity and to the non-profit Obama Foundation.
We can’t wait to get the scoop!
