MTV MOVIE & TV AWARDS LEADS SOCIAL PROGRESS!

April 10, 2017

MTV is at the forefront of social progress!

The network that launched The Jersey Shore and Teen Mom is changing awards shows for the better!

Last month, an announcement was made that the award show will now be adding television categories, which will formally change the award show to the  MTV Movie & TV AwardsThat’s not all though! This past week, MTV also announced their categories will be gender-neutral.

MTV’s president Chris McCarthy commented about the changes to CNNMoney:

“We have to constantly be pushing ourselves to not only respond to culture but lead it.”

MTV also changed its former category “Best Fight” to “Best Fight Against the System” in light of social change and progress depicted in film and television.

Adam DeVine from Workaholics will host the event on Sunday, May 7th.

What do you think about these changes?
