She’s been a Bridesmaid, a Spy and a Ghostbuster, now Melissa McCarthy is the cover girl of Glamour’s Money Issue.

In the magazine’s May issue, the 47-year-old comedian discusses her struggle making it Hollywood, saying that years of rejection made her eventual success so much sweeter.

“I think the best thing I could have done was struggle until I was 30. I always assume every job is my last. Twenty years of desperately trying to get a single job gets deep in your DNA.”

After years playing bit-parts, McCarthy had her break-out role as Megan in the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids, for which she received an Oscar nomination.

She has since starred in a number of hits, and that ‘struggle’ has really paid off, because she now regularly ranks in the top 5 highest paid actresses in Hollywood, alongside the likes of  Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone.

Rickey and special guest co-host Erica Ash couldn’t agree more with McCarthy’s words of wisdom and disclosed how their own early struggles made their eventual successes even better.

But it was Gary that revealed he’s not exactly sold on the theory. Watch the clip and see if you agree!
