JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE REPORTEDLY FINALIZING SUPER BOWL HALFTIME GIGSeptember 27, 2017
Justin Timberlake is trying to bring sexyback to the Super Bowl.
The 36-year-old is reportedly “finalizing” his deal to perform during the Super Bowl halftime show in February, according to Us Weekly.
It was previously reported that Jay-Z had turned down the high profile gig, but as far as the two sharing the stage at some point, a source added: “as of right now, it will just be Justin — no surprise performers.”
If the former Nsync star does headline the NFL championship on February 4, 2018, it will be 14 years since he famously threw Janet Jackson under the bus after ripping off the pop diva’s outfit to reveal her pierced right breast at the 2004 Super Bowl.
At the time, JT claimed he was “shocked and appalled” at what happened and let Janet take the brunt of the blame.
The media spectacle became known as Nipplegate and ushered into the world the term “wardrobe malfunction.”
Immediately following the fallout, Janet was uninvited from the Grammys, blacklisted from many radio stations and forced to drop out of playing Lena Horne in a planned ABC biopic. While Justin faced little little to no backlash.
In addition, the FCC also instituted a five second delay to all televised live performances to avoid any similar situation from occurring in the future.
Justice for Janet!
