JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’S NEW ‘FILTHY’ VIDEO HAS THE INTERNET DIVIDEDJanuary 5, 2018
Justin Timberlake is bringing the mixed reviews back.
The 36-year-old dropped the video to his new track “Filthy” early on Friday and the internet is divided about the song and the futuristic clip.
“First I thought JT’s new song ‘Filthy’ was trash. Upon second listen, I think it’s garbage,” one hater wrote on Twitter.
Timberlake channels the late Steve Jobs in the video which has him introducing a dancing robot at a technology conference. While it may be a new song, the track definitely seems like it could have come off his 2006 album FutureSex/LoveSounds.
“Same people not feeling #Filthy weren’t ready for Sexy Back either. Now it’s in their top five,” wrote a fan.
While another praised the new track for being on the cutting edge saying, “Just like “SexyBack”, #Filthy is way ahead of its time, and people will need a while to get adjusted.”
But others didn’t agree and weren’t having the former boybander’s latest single at all. “#Filthy is an appropriate name for this Justin Timberlake song bc it’s trash.”
Earlier in the week, Timberlake teased his new album Man of the Woods by releasing a clip saying the new record celebrated his southern roots and his family. Because nothing says Tennessee and Jessica Biel like … a twerking sci-fi automaton?
