EXCLUSIVE: ICE CUBE IS READY TO ‘GO TO WORK’ ON NEW ‘FRIDAY’ SEQUELFebruary 17, 2017
Today was a good day!
Ice Cube stopped by Dish Nation and dropped some exclusive knowledge on the state of the latest Friday sequel.
While there have been rumors for years claiming the fourth film in the franchise was either on the verge of being made or completely dead in the water, Ice now says “it’s time to go to work.” Hello, Felicia!
The 47-year-old revealed the reason the stoner comedy has been in limbo is because of turnover at New Line Cinema.
According to Ice, the studio wasn’t initially behind greenlighting another sequel, but after a recent change in the executive ranks, the new team appears to be on board for giving fans an update on Craig Jones.
While there is no official word yet, when Headkrack asked if we’re closer now than ever before to seeing the film become a reality, Ice said definitively: “Yes, we are!” We’ll take it!
The original Friday was released in 1995 and launched two sequels: Next Friday (2000) and Friday After Next (2002).
In the meantime, Ice Cube’s latest comedy Fist Fight is in theaters now.
