Halle Berry famously played a Bond girl in the 2002 film Die Another Day, but the Oscar winner is not down for the role of James Bond to be turned into a female character.

“I want [women] to be tough but I don’t know if Bond should be a woman,” the 50-year-old told Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, that series is steeped in history, you know Ian Fleming’s stories. I don’t think you can change Bond to a woman.”

But Halle still thinks the franchise can sfind a way to diversify with a strong female lead at the helm.

“We can create a new Bond character that’s a woman, and give her a new name, based on that theory, but I don’t know if bond should be a woman,” she added.

There’s been much talk of changing the gender of the classic spy character ever since Chris Hemsworth said he thought Charlize Theron should be the next 007.

While Daniel Craig is reportedly set to reprise his Bond role for the 5th time in the as-yet-untilted 25th film in the series, Charlize seems like a logical choice should producers decide to feminize the character.

Although Charlize may not be interested in taking up the franchise, she definitely proves she can kick ass playing a fierce British spy in her latest film Atomic Blonde. TICKET IT!

She’s gotten us shaken & stirred!
