‘GLEE’ STAR MARK SALLING DEAD FROM APPARENT SUICIDEJanuary 30, 2018
Former Glee star Mark Salling has died from apparent suicide.
The 35-year-old’s body was allegedly found near the Los Angeles River in Sunland, California.
“I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early this morning,” Salling’s lawyer said in a statement to EW. “Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment. He is survived by his mother and father, and his brother. The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected.”
Salling – who rose to fame playing Puck on the Fox series – was awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to child pornography.
With a hearing set for March, the actor was expected to get four to seven years in prison and would have had to register as a sex offender.
Salling was arrested in December 2015 after prosecutors alleged he had over 50,000 images of child pornography on his computer.
