By Jon Boon for Dish Nation

He may be loved up with Irina Shayk, but Bradley Cooper is hoping to make sweet, sweet music with Lady Gaga, Dish Nation has EXCLUSIVELY learned.

The Oscar-nominated hunk is prepping A Star Is Born with the “Million Reasons” singer, and the pair have been locked in rehearsals before filming for the musical begins.

But despite all the hard work, the pair have found some time to have fun, including classically-trained pianist Gaga helping Bradley polish up on his ivory tickling skills.

Bradley played the piano in hit movie turned TV show Limitless, and although he’s a dab hand on the old Joanna, he’s keen for Gaga to teach him.

And, if all goes well, Bradley would like to showcase his Gaga-taught skills at the A Star Is Born wrap party for the crew and cast.

“Bradley has always fancied himself as a musician, and plays the piano in his downtime whenever he can,” a source tells Dish. “However, he’s just an amateur for the moment, and although he knows the basics and can play Chopsticks, he’d love to expand his repertoire. That’s where Gaga comes in. They’ve been having a blast planning out A Star Is Born, and in-between rehearsals Gaga loves to sit at a piano and compose music. She’s always writing material, and that grabbed Bradley’s attention immediately. He asked her to show her a few things, and Gaga and Bradley sat down at the piano and bonded over the keys on music. She was happy to teach him a few things, and they’ve done it a few times since. Of course, their priority is to get the film right. Bradley is very focused on his directorial debut, but that also means he wants to engross himself completely in music. By brushing up on his own skills, he also feels it helps him really get his teeth into the project and he understands exactly what the world of music means to the artists involved.”

Bradley’s so keen to improve on piano skills, and even though he’s amateur at best, he’d love to perform a jazz number at the film’s wrap party to thank all the crew.”

Bradley will be making his directorial debut with A Star Is Born, which is based on the 1937 classic starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March.

The only two confirmed cast members are Bradley and Lady Gaga, with news on the project tight-lipped for now.

However, with a 2018 released date already planned, expect A Star Is Born to be a sure-fire Oscar-contender when it is released next year.
