DWAYNE ‘THE ROCK’ JOHNSON, SANDRA BULLOCK & JADA PINKETT-SMITH INSPIRE AT THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS
Tuesday, Jun 18, 2019

In true MTV Movie Awards fashion, last night was sizzlin’ with jaw-dropping moments and memorable speeches. But the underlining theme of last night’s awards show was a message of inspiration by some of the industry’s biggest stars.

Although Jada Pinkett-Smith won the Trailblazer Award for Red Table Talk, she was compelled to honor everyone with her acceptance speech—encouraging everyone to “muster up the courage” because “every single person in this room is trailblazing, whether it’s within or without.”

After snagging the Most Frightened Performance Award for her riveting role in Bird Box, Sandra Bullock delivered a moving speech about her love of family that almost moved the crowd to tears.

“I made Bird Box because my children asked me why I never made anything for them. So when Bird Box crossed my path, I knew this was a story I needed to make because it was about family,” she dished on stage.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recognized his roots and acknowledged the importance of authenticity while accepting his Generation Award. “I’m proudly half-black and half-Samoan, and I wanted to bring those cultures up here for the world to see,” he shared with the crowd—before encouraging people to be kind, compassionate and all-inclusive.
