DIDDY WANTS TO BUY THE CAROLINA PANTHERS & SIGN COLIN KAEPERNICKDecember 18, 2017
Diddy is known for being a baller, but now he wants to be a footballer!
The rap mogul took to social media to reveal he’s interested in buying the Carolina Panthers.
“I would like to buy the @Panthers. Spread the word. Retweet!” Diddy wrote to his 13.9 milllion followers on Sunday.
This comes after current owner Jerry Richardson announced he would be selling the NFL team after being investigated for alleged sexual misconduct.
In a follow-up tweet Diddy added: “There are no majority African American NFL owners. Let’s make history.”
The “It’s All About the Benjamins” singer then shared an Instagram video where he elaborated further on his intentions and how he would hire Colin Kaepernick for his team.
“I will immediately address the Colin Kaepernick situation by putting him in the running for next year’s starting quarterback,” Diddy said. “It’s just competition, baby.” Ya hear that, Cam Newton?!
Diddy then stressed how his music industry pedigree would add to his game.
“I will have the best halftime show, the best selection of music and we’re going to win the Super Bowl.”
Now while Diddy has an estimated wealth of over $800 million, the price of buying an NFL team is reportedly over $2.3 billion.
After Diddy’s announcement, both Steph Curry and Colin Kaepernick tweeted their interest in owning slice of an NFL team.
While the prospect of the three stars joining forces to buy the Panthers is still far from a reality, it has the makings of being Diddy’s most epic collaboration.
