AMARA LA NEGRA SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON CARDI B BEEFApril 27, 2018
After appearing on a radio show earlier this year, Cardi’s sister Hennessy Carolina believed Amara was insinuating the “Bodak Yellow” singer had an easier time breaking into the business because she’s more “light-skinned.”
While the conversation was not a dig at the singer & more about colorism in the Latino community – both Amara and Cardi are of Dominican descent – the LHHMIA star set the record straight on Friday’s Dish Nation.
“I never at all dissed Cardi or anything like that. I don’t know why she (Hennessy) took it that way,” Amara told Gary with Da Tea. “In every interview I’ve always uplifted her and I’ve always said that I would love to work with Cardi. We’re both come from the same franchise. We’re both Dominicans. We’re both Afro-Latinas.”
Amara – who recently dropped her new music video for “Insecure” – chalks up the fake feud as another instance of society wanting to pit two women against each other. A narrative that she doesn’t subscribe to at all.
“I love empowering other women. I don’t have an issue with this, I just feel that people like the drama and they want to see some type of controversy because it’s part of the entertainment.”
The 27-year-old is able to stay positive because she believes in a world of abundance over lack, where there’s enough pie to go around for herself, Cardi and anyone else who strives to make their dreams a reality.
“I think there’s enough fans, enough people in the world for all of us to succeed & all have a fanbase.
Whatever is meant for me is meant for me. Nobody can stop that.” TRUTH!
Now let’s all hope Cardi and Amara make some money moves together & collaborate in the near future.
