Earlier this week, Terry Crews went to Washington to advocate for the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights. Crews has been open about his experience with sexual assault and bravely told the Senate committee his story.
When asked why a man of his size did not fight back when non-consensually groped, Terry tearfully explained:
“As a black man in America, you only have a few shots at success. You only have a few chances to make yourself a viable member of a community. I am from Flint, Michigan. I have seen many, many young black men provoked into violence and they were in prison or killed.”
Terry credited the strength of his wife for educating him on how to walk away from provoking situations, such as the one he was faced, and remarked: “her training worked.”
While hearing Terry’s testimony moved most people, 50 Cent continued to prove he cannot take anything seriously. The rapper went to Instagram to post an inappropriate meme which showed a photo of Terry alongside the words, “I got raped. My wife just watched.”
The Power star has since taken down the post after a deluge of internet backlash. 50 followed the post with another one of him lying down with the caption: “This is me recovering from having my sense of humor removed this morning. People are so sensitive, my doctor said l will be fine in six weeks, but my publicist said if you see any journalist play DEAD.”
With a sense of humor like that one, maybe removing it was for the best.
