We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again. There’s NOTHING better than Awards Show Season.

And speaking of, it continued tonight with the highly-anticipated Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles. The biggest names in movies and television gathered in their finest attire to be honored for the roles they took on last year.

The evening kicked off by honoring the lead male and female actors in a comedy series on television. Though the categories were both filled with very earning nominees, Uzo Aduba swept up the award in the female category for her role in Orange is the New Black. Jeffrey Tambor took home the other award for his role in Transparent and gave an inspirational speech for those who identify with his character, Maura Pfefferman.

Alicia Vikander took home the honor for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her part in The Danish Girl. No shocker here, this was easily one of the most highly accredited films of the year. Very well deserved!

Perhaps the most touching part of the evening was when Carol Burnett was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor was presented by none other than Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. The two hilariously commented on how performing in comedies is harder than drama, by knocking on Leo and his role in The Revenant and closing out their speech with, “regardless, Carol is better than all of us.” What a nice tribute to a woman that has made millions laugh!

There were a number of individuals who were lucky enough to find themselves on stage a few times this evening, accepting multiple awards. For example, Idris Elba not only accepted 3 honors tonight but also had the pleasure of presenting. And speaking of presenters, there were a ton of GOOD ones this year. From Susan Sarandon and Kristen Wiig, to Eva Longoria, Taye Diggs and Eddie Redmayne.
